Court of Protection and Related issues - Suggested course for Administrators in Social Services Departments

A course aimed at providing those working in Finance/Client Services (or equivalent) sections of Social Services Departments with an understanding of the way in which the affairs of service users can be managed where they are themselves unable or unwilling to do so - whether via an Enduring Power of Attorney, Appointeeship or the Court of Protection.  The course would also look at the way in which applications to the court are made and the steps which will or may be necessary following the making of a receivership order both in the short term and the long term.  The course will also look at the issues for administrators which will arise after a service user dies.  

 

Abuse of vulnerable adults - Legal Issues - Suggested course for Social Workers

A course looking at the legal procedures available for attempting to prevent financial abuse of vulnerable adults , the remedies available if financial or physical abuse has taken place and the recent legislation put in place to provide protection of individuals in abusive relationships in the widest sense whether by strangers or family

 

Legal issues affecting care home residents - Course for care home proprietors, administrators and senior staff

The aim of this course is to assist the staff to identify residents who have or may have problems of a Legal nature and to be able promptly to draw the attention of residents and their relatives to potential problems and to offer guidance to those residents and relatives as to the route to solving their difficulties. The course will also look at some of the dangers that exist for staff etc in dealing with residents and their affairs and some of the dangers and problems that exist for Homes in their dealings with residents' monies and property during lifetime and on death.
